The Trailsmen Rod & Gun Club (Club) is a registered not-for-profit organization which is operated by volunteers. The Club was created in 1967, is a result of a group of miners wanting to organize themselves in order to provide competitive shooting in their community of Val Caron. The Trailsmen Rod & Gun Club was incorporated in 1979. All members in good standing, can enjoy all privileges and benefits that the Trailsmen Rod & Gun Club and the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters have to offer, such as shooting ranges, monthly Ontario Out Of Doors Magazine, Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters $1,000,000 liability insurance policy. The Trailsmen Rod & Gun Club is affiliated with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters as well as the Community Hatchery Program .
The club facilities include an accessible clubhouse, a controlled room for incubation and hatching, outdoor holding tanks, three rearing ponds and a rainbow pond. The Club is also home to Oliver's Gun Range where members can practice their shooting skills at the long-rifle range (50, 100 and 200 yards) or at the 17 yard hand-gun range. There is ample parking for members and guests.
Most importantly, the Club is community oriented and hosts various theme days where the young and the young at heart can enjoy indoor and outdoor activities!
